Navigate a NDB / ADF

Navigate a NDB / ADF

Learn how to navigate a NDB with a ADF

Easy example

Here is an easy example explaining
- if we are pointed directly at the NDB
- our relative heading is 000
- the ADF reads 070

Easy, we simply fly 070

Harder example

In this scenerio
- the ADF reads 330 (relative bearing)
- Our airplanes heading is 090 (heading)

We need to use the formula: HEADING + RELATIVE BEARING = MAGNETIC BEARING
090 + 330 = 420
-> subtract 360
-> 060 is our hearing we should use in our plane
